What our panels are made from

The material stack behind UltraSIPs panels.

A SIP panel is only as trustworthy as the boards inside it. UltraSIPs uses SterlingOSB Zero for the OSB faces, with IKO Enertherm or SOPRATHERM PIR insulation cores.

Choose the right package

Know what you are buying before you order.

Compare thickness, use case, what is included, what is separate and how delivery is quoted before you order.

01

You want to know what the SIP panel is made from.

02

You want supplier names before committing to a kit.

03

You want to see the BBA product evidence behind the boards we use.

Practical guidance

What customers need to know before ordering.

These points are written for buyers, builders and self-builders who need clear decisions before manufacture starts.

Why named materials matter

Customers, builders and specifiers need to know what is in the panel before comparing prices.

  • A low price means little if the OSB and PIR are not named.
  • The selected insulation option affects U-value, weight and cost.
  • Clear material names make it easier to compare quotes properly.

BBA evidence, explained properly

BBA certificates apply to defined products and applications. They are useful evidence, but they are not a shortcut around project checks.

  • West Fraser SterlingOSB Zero is described by West Fraser as BBA-approved OSB3.
  • IKO publishes BBA certificates for relevant Enertherm insulation boards.
  • SOPREMA/Celotex TB4000, GA4000 and XR4000 have BBA certificates for defined uses.

Named suppliers

The three materials behind the panel.

Every UltraSIPs SIP panel is built around a simple, traceable stack: West Fraser SterlingOSB Zero faces and a PIR insulation core from IKO Enertherm or SOPRATHERM.

Made in Britain member

Made in Britain

UK-made SIP panels with traceable UK material suppliers.

UltraSIPs is a Made in Britain member. The panels we manufacture use SterlingOSB Zero from West Fraser for the OSB faces, with PIR insulation cores from IKO Enertherm or SOPRATHERM. That gives customers a clearer view of what is inside the panel before they order.

West Fraser

West Fraser

SterlingOSB Zero OSB3

What it does

Structural OSB faces used either side of the PIR core in the SIP panel build-up.

This is the OSB board UltraSIPs uses for SIP panel faces. It gives the panel its structural skins and provides a recognisable UK-made OSB source for specifiers, builders and self-builders.

IKO

IKO

IKO Enertherm ALU

What it does

High-performance PIR insulation core used in UltraSIPs IKO SIP panels.

IKO Enertherm is one of the PIR core products UltraSIPs uses. Customers can compare it clearly against SOPRATHERM because the quote shows the panel thickness, core family and intended use.

SOPREMA

SOPRATHERM GA / XR series

What it does

PIR insulation core used in UltraSIPs SOPRATHERM SIP panels.

SOPRATHERM GA4000 is listed by SOPREMA as previously Celotex GA4000, with 0.022 W/mK declared thermal conductivity. It is the SOPREMA/Celotex PIR family used in UltraSIPs panels.

Important certification note

BBA certificates are product certificates. They show that the named product has been independently assessed for the uses described in that certificate. Your project still needs the correct panel thickness, detailing, structural checks and Building Control checks where required.

Questions customers ask

Straight answers before checkout.

What OSB do UltraSIPs use?+

Our OSB face material is Sterling OSB3 Zero from West Fraser.

What insulation cores do you use?+

UltraSIPs uses IKO Enertherm and SOPRATHERM XR/GA series PIR cores. Your quote shows which core and thickness applies to the panel you are buying.

Are component products BBA approved?+

The OSB and PIR products we use have BBA product evidence for defined uses. BBA certification supports the material choice, but the final build still needs the correct design, detailing and Building Control checks where required.
